12. How can I get my website
to show up at the top of search engines?
1. Why do I need a website?
A professional looking website gives a business instant credibility.
They act as an online brochure where your customers can learn
more about your company, your products/services, see your work
and how to contact you. In addition, a website gives you the
opportunity to advertise online on search engines like Google
and Yahoo where you can get better value compared to traditional
advertising like newspapers and radio.
2. How much does a website cost?
It depends. All website projects are custom quoted based on
the number of pages, features, content and interactivity. In
order to provide you with an accurate quote please
contact us and a representative will get
back to you within 24 hours.
3. How long does it usually take to build a website?
Depending on the size of the website it typically takes between
4 to 6 weeks. Also, be prepared to give us some of your time
during those 4 to 6 weeks. We will need you to review designs
and provide feedback, write text content for the pages and gather
photos to include. This will help move the process along.
4. Can you design a logo for me?
Absolutely. Send us an email or give us a call to discuss.
5. Where can I get pictures from for my website?
The best pictures are usually pictures you already have such
as photos of you and your staff, your office or place of work,
before and after pictures, etc. If you don't have any pictures
then we suggest purchasing photos online at places like
www.fotolia.com or
www.gettyimages.com.
Both have a wide selection and fair prices.
6. What is the process like ? How do I get started?
There are 3 phases. In Phase 1 we provide a free consultation to you. You can tell us what type of website
you need, the features you want, etc. This helps us give
you an accurate quote along with an accurate estimate of how
long it will take to develop. After that a project manager will
be assigned to your project and that person will contact you
to discuss your project further. Your project manager will be
your main contact here. Their job is to coordinate and schedule
the work to be done with our various departments (graphic designers,
programmers, coders, etc) and to keep you informed about your
website's progress. They will also be responsible for gathering
the necessary files from you for the website such as photos,
text content, etc. Next is Phase 2 where our team designs the
graphics and homepage and then we provide the design to you
to review. After you review it you will likely have some changes
to make which we gladly do and then send it to you to review
again. This edit/review phase can take multiple rounds of edits.
We only design the interior pages once you have approved the
homepage. Then you will have a chance to review and approve
the interior pages the same way. Once you are fully satisfied
with the designs and have given your approval we move to Phase
3: the HTML / CSS coding. This is where we take the designs
and build the internet code, set up all the links and publish
the files onto the web. This process keeps you involved so you
know and are satisfied with the website as its development progresses.
7. I saw a website I really like and want mine
to look just like it. Can you do that?
Well yes and no. Although we can make a site for you with the
same layout you will still have to get your own photos and write
your own text for the pages. Finding a site you really like
and want to mirror your site after is an excellent starting
point and helps guide us while we develop your site.
8. What is web hosting?
The internet is a giant collection of websites all hosted on
computers (called web servers) all over the world. Every website
needs space on a web server where the website's files can reside
so that the website is accessible by anyone anywhere in the
world at any given moment. Web hosting providers like us invest
in web servers so that we can develop and also host our client's
websites. Each website hosted on a web server takes us space
and needs to be maintained to ensure they are always up and
running and have a constant, fast connection to the internet.
The amount of space needed along with the different level of
service each website needs are usually the deciding factors
when choosing a monthly web hosting plan. Whether you are a
small business owner with minimal needs right now or a large
enterprise – or anywhere in between we have various hosting
plans to suit your needs.

and we'll be glad to help you find a solution that's right for
you.
9. What is a domain name?
A domain name is a web address on the Internet such as websitemvp.com
or google.com. Domain names are available in different suffixes
such as .com, .net, .tv, .edu, .co.uk and much more. Once you
register a domain name, it is entirely yours, no one else can
register that exact web address as long as you continue to pay
the yearly renewal fee and abide by the terms of use.
10. How do I make a payment? What are the payment
terms?
Visit our
payments page. We accept most major credit cards, PayPal and echecks. We require a 50% payment deposit at the
start of all projects and the balance when the project is completed.
For larger projects we require a 30% deposit, another 30% after
the designs are finished and the remaining 40% upon completion.
Prices include 'reasonable' minor edits during the first month.
After 1 month all updates will be paid.
11. What do I do if I need to make changes or
updates to my site after it's already been completed?
Prices include 'reasonable' minor edits during the first month.
After 1 month all updates are billed accordingly depending on
what needs to get done. If your website is such that you require
frequent updates (every week or twice a week), then we highly
recommend a Content Management System (CMS) with
your site. A CMS will make it easy for you to make changes to
certain sections or pages that you know in advance will need
constant updating. If you don't want to be bothered with making
changes yourself even with a CMS then we can gladly update your
site as needed. All edits should be sent in an email with detailed
notes.
12. How can I get my website to show up at the
top of search engines?
It is a combination of factors. It starts by submitting your
website into the search engines but also requires
Search Engine
Optimization (SEO) efforts. SEO is a marketing strategy for
increasing a site's relevance for specific keywords and thus
increasing that website's ranking when people search for those
keywords on search engines. SEO considers how search algorithms
work and what people search for. SEO efforts may involve a combination
of things such as making changes to a site's coding, its content,
layout and structure as well as fixing problems that could prevent
search engine spiders from fully indexing a site into its databases.
There are also off page factors that contribute to higher rankings
such as inbound links. We offer a full suite of
Search Engine
Optimization and other
Search Engine Marketing services like
Pay-Per-Click advertising which can put you at the top of search
engines faster by paying for ad space.
